Tavistock Pride 2025

Despite the wet weather, nothing could rain on our parade! This years pride was the best day filled with love and laughter and of course, jam packed with all things circus!

Rosie Rainbow and Ezra Rainbow stood tall and proud in the parade leading the way with the rest of our rainbows close behind. We so love being part of the pride parade
. Belonging and acceptance is such a crucial part of our ethos at Rainbow Circus. Everyone should be able to be the authentic selves!

After the parade we opened our Circus Workshop with a wide variety of skills to practice and explore including ground based and aerial disciplines.  Rosie Rainbow, Zoe and Ezra Rainbow provided Aerial demonstrations on Lyra and Trapeze throughout the day. Our bubble fairies were wing-credible as always! And of course, no pride would be complete without rainbow face-paints, hair strands and tons of colourful sweet treats and gifts available at our stall.

We loved catching up with everyone and meeting new people. Thank you Tavistock Pride for having us!

Callington Mayfest

What a beautiful day with amazing people! It was a fantastic turnout for the parade. We were so pleased with the amount of participants who came to join us and support us. The parade route isn't an easy one for our stilt walkers as it involves going down a hill but they absolutely smashed it (as always). We were in a new location this year, closer to the main hub of activities. We carefully planned our workshop space on an incline and coducted workshops and demonstrations throughout the day, It was awesome to see some familiar faces from the Callington caVe workshops we did in Callington on the lead up to Mayfest.

BIG thank you to...
  • The legends that joined us in the parade, waved ribbons, donned garlands and dressed up for the occasion!
  • Our amazing workshop volunteers
  • Our stall volunteers who battled the constant wind!
  • Rosie Rainbow Circus and Ezra Rainbow- stilt walking super stars
  • The organisers at Callington MayFest
  • The wonderful people at Callington caVe
  • All you lovelies who supported our workshop and stall
Unbelievably grateful for the opportunity to bring the circus to Callington over the last few months. We can't wait to come back!

Tavistock VE Day Celebrations

Rainbow Circus CIC joined the festivities in Bedford Square to provide a traditional circus workshop and stall for VE day! Rosie Rainbow donned her red, white and blue in a showstopping aerial performance and stilt-walked the streets of Tavistock. Zoe understood the assignment and baked a beautiful selection of red, white and blue themed sweet treats. The music and atmosphere in Bedford square was electric. Thank you, as always, to the fantastic organisers at Tavistock BID.

Callington CaVe Funded Workshops

Picture
Picture
This Spring, we had the privilege of providing some free workshops for the people of Callington, funded by Callington CaVe. We held four separate weekend workshops giving participants of all ages and abilities the opportunity to try out circus skills, some for the first time ever! Ages of workshop attendees ranged from 4-72+ and everyone got involved and tried new things. We had over 111 participants across the course of the four session block, and 100% positive feedback from participants which is always very reassuring! We had an absolute blast bringing circus skills to Callington each week, and are really looking forward to further collaboration with Callington CaVe & their amazing team in the future. Keep your eyes peeled for future announcements!

Paint The Town - 19th February 2025

Picture
On a slightly damp Wednesday during February Half Term, we ventured into the Town and joined the Deputy Mayor on our stilts for the ceremony. Many children from Tavistock and the surrounding areas have been working hard to create beautiful art installations for the shop windows. This fabulous Tavistock BID event was incredibly well attended and it was so lovely to see so many of the independent shop windows with their lovingly made decorations. With bunches of daffodils, we posed for the camera before continuing with our day.

Our Flower Fairy & Butterfly Fairy stiltwalkers spent the rest of their days adventuring all around the town handing out tokens to the children which were redeemed for Hot Chocolates at local business, Mime Cafe. Our Bubble Fairy made three magical appearances in the town square and it was so lovely to watch the bubbles floating off across the Square. In Butchers Hall we held a ground based circus workshop attended by over 200 young people and their families. Our stalls sold delicious sweet treats and circus equipment alongside games. On the craft table, children were able to make their own magical potion necklaces and fairy wands. We raised £124.11 for the CIC and had such a wonderful day with our local community. More media will be posted soon as we receive it from the lovely Tavistock BID photographer of the day, Dave.

Tavistock Zombie Crawl 2024

Picture
Rainbow Circus had a fantastic time on 30th October 2024 bringing Tavistock's first annual Zombie Crawl to town in association with Tavistock BID. Over the course of this project, Rainbow Circus has visited local schools to provide workshops for the zombie dance flash mob (with a sprinkling of circus skills, of course!). The response from the local community was fantastic and yesterday we saw over 400 participants in our workshop before almost 100 zombies burst out of the Pannier Market & paraded their way around town.

Rainbow Circus CIC would like to thank Rosie Rainbow Circus, Zoe (our hardworking face-painter and mermaid zombie) & all of our amazing Members & Volunteers for their hard work both on the day and around the edges. Janna Sanders from Tavistock BID for such a fabulous proposal that was so fun to work on, the Lions Club of Tavistock for their provision of bodies for the parade, the team at the Pannier Market & Town Hall for such a wonderful space and kind facilitation, Tavistock Primary and Whitchurch Primary for collaborating with us on our free workshops and (perhaps most importantly) the wonderful local community who came out to join in, have fun and get stuck in to a fun new project for the Town we love.

Thank you to everyone who came and played with us! It was fantastic to see you all. Until next time!

Cornwall Tattoo Convention 2024

Picture
2024 was a much bigger year for Rosie & the Rainbow Circus. This year, we had our own giant geo-dome near the main stage and provided a full weekend of activities. Over the course of the weekend Rosie and her team provided various different circus workshops throughout the day, covering various disciplines for all different age groups. With multiple family friendly circus shows, a burlesque show and evening fire performances we kept the circus tent alive until the end of the weekend. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
