Ahoy there! This year, Rainbow Circus CIC invites you to be part of something truly special — a joyful, community-created circus adventure: "The Great Pasty Heist!" Written by Rosie Rainbow and brought to life by local participants of all ages and abilities, this playful production will be devised and rehearsed through eight FREE community workshops taking place in Callington Primary School, culminating in a spectacular public performance at Callington's own MayFest celebrations packed with laughter, colour and Cornish charm.
The Workshop Series Rainbow Circus CIC will host 8 free, inclusive workshops funded by Callington CAVe where participants will: > Learn accessible circus skills (juggling, hula hoop, basic aerial, movement & performance) > Explore character creation — pirates, mermaids, townsfolk and more > Help shape scenes, the musical accompaniment and bring the script to life > Build confidence, teamwork and stage presence > Contribute ideas, costumes and creative flair * No previous circus or performance experience is needed — just enthusiasm and a willingness to have a go! * All workshops are designed to be: > Inclusive and welcoming > Suitable for mixed ages and abilities > Supportive of neurodivergent and disabled participants > Focused on fun, creativity and community spirit Specialist workshops (open to all ages & abilities) will be held on - > 21st March - Flying Pole with guest Instructor Eden Le Vell > 28th March - Object Manipulation with guest instructor Ross Wheeler of Hotchpotch Performance > 4th April - Tightrope with Guest Instructor Trevelyan Trevethan The Grand Performance After eight weeks of laughter, learning and creative chaos, the community cast will present The Great Pasty Heist in a celebratory performance for family, friends and the wider community during Callington MayFest on 9th May.
